Challenging!

Greetings!

I know it has been a while and I do apologize for not being better with staying in touch. Things have been difficult lately. I am sure you are aware of the issues so many of us are facing these days. To say the least, things have been quite challenging!

Work and sustaining a living are number one on my list. As you know, my last job did not work out so well… I hear “they” are still in business but not doing well at all. To tell the truth, I am relieved to be out of there. The place was not a very positive one.

Isn’t it funny sometimes how things work out? If I get honest about the situation it was the best thing that could have ever come out of the move and taking that position.

Currently I am still looking for work. Actually the whole structure of the job market seems to be a bit off. I am not really sure what to do at this point? I have gone back to the recruiters and they don’t seem to be any help. I have been on my usual industry websites and job boards to no avail and have been networking like crazy with all of my contacts both the old and the new. I have thought about going back to school and learning something different. What do you think about that? A new trade or skill, or possibly training for some kind of license like a PI or something in the health care field where I know there will always be work. I am not sure where this is going to take us.

The good news is, if there is any, that we are all healthy and our minds are still clear!

Hey on a completely other note, I was thinking about going back home to see if I can hook up with any of the old gang. Are you interested in trying to plan a trip in the next few weeks or even next month? I think it would be great for us to re-visit our old world, don’t you? This could be a mini vacation from all the stress here for me and I think you might enjoy a short trip just to get away too. How about it?

I hope you will think about coming with me. I have not told you this in many years but you are the best friend I ever had! I suppose you might be a little apprehensive about committing to a trip like this one. I can understand that it is not the most comfortable situation to be in and the last thing I want to do is be a downer for you. If you are not interested I do understand. I just do not have many people to really open up to and this is one of those rare times in ones life that requires a true friend!

Please let me know if you can make it in the next few weeks and we can plan something together. I am looking forward to catching up with you in so many ways…

All my best,

Blowing in the Wind

Hello Dear!

What a blustery day we had here yesterday! I felt like a tumbleweed trying to get across our front lawn to the mailbox. There were huge gusts coming in from all directions... it felt as though I was in a comedy routine. Several small pots I was hoping to use to start a little cactus garden circle around the front porch steps were smashed to bits. So much for that idea!

Speaking of gardening, I have been reading up on what would be the best types of ground covers for an area that has been an eyesore since winter when we had a lot of moles digging holes in the side yard. Dang those critters. I was thinking about green apple, which goes wild around here without any care whatsoever, but it isn't all that attractive. I wanted something lighter in color overall and not so waxy looking. Do you have any suggestions? I found some great gardening websites with good photos but, of course, everything always looks better in pictures. I want to see what will be on sale later next month when I have a little bit more money in the garden budget.

I went to visit one of my old friends early last evening. I hadn't seen her for nearly a year and it was great to catch up with all that we've been doing since then. Her health has been good, which really is a blessing considering all that she's been through. You might remember that she is the one who has lupus. Her house and garden looked terrific, by the way! They have a regular gardener but her partner does most of the work and designing. I always admire her taste. I had only planned to stay for an hour and we ended up talking for nearly two-and-a-half hours!

Well, I look forward to hearing what you've been up to. Please write when you have a chance and tell me what is going on in your world! Until then, my very best to you!

Love,
